Trying new things while travelling is a joy, and mastering thuoc lao with a dieu cay waterpipe was a challenge I welcomed. Lighting the tobacco, getting it going, and spitting out the burning ball before inhaling was manageable. However, trying not to cough while my head spun was quite a struggle.
