Dak Mot, Kontum. 9 December 1992
Dak Mot Sedang village, near Ngoc Hoi in Kontum, stood out for its distinctive square traditional Nha Rong, or cultural house. As I arrived, a man approached, pushing a squeaky, rusty bicycle with a sack of rice tied to the back. “Beaucoup rice, beaucoup rice,” he laughed, introducing himself as Mr Jacobe Sui. He explained that he was the designer of the Nha Rong. While we spoke, a crowd of children gathered around us, and among them was this delightful little girl.
