Most people travelled by bicycle or cyclo, plus there were a growing number of motorbikes. Things were changing fast and by autumn 1993 Hanoi Taxi, the city’s first taxi company, was launched. The taxi meters were priced in dollars, they were unaffordable for most people, but they were a sign of rapid changes in Hanoi.
