Xe om (cuddle bike) drivers rapidly grew in number. They didn’t necessarily have the most modern motorbikes, but an old East German Simson, or battered Honda Cub would do the trick. Negotiate a price, hop on the back and you could be where you wanted to go in a fraction of the time a cyclo would take.
